John Wilson leads the Manufacturing & Supply Chain Practice of Russam GMS. He brings over 25 years of industrial and manufacturing experience to the business as detailed in his profile.

John Wilson says:
‘We have been supplying experienced interim managers to the manufacturing sector for the last 15 years, so we understand the sector, the changes that have taken place over the years, and the challenges for 2006. We have the resources to help you meet these challenges’

The current focus of our Manufacturing & Supply Chain Practice is in three areas:

• Lean/World Class Manufacturing

To compete in global and domestic markets companies manufacturing in UK need to achieve optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness, and consistent quality using state of the art systems and manufacturing techniques. Russam has the expertise available to help you meet these goals.

• Sourcing from Low Cost Countries

For many low to medium technology, labour intensive products, sourcing from Eastern Europe or the Far East is becoming unavoidable. However, this is not a risk free process. Russam has over 600 executives with the specialist knowledge and experience to support outsourcing of components or finished products, and to help you avoid the pitfalls and realise the full savings in manufacturing costs.

• People Management

Overall, the manufacturing sector in UK is in decline and most companies are in a continuous process of change to adapt to the demands of global markets. Inevitably, this has implications for people, encompassing the introduction of new technologies or working practices, retraining, redeployment, downsizing or restructuring. Russam has senior HR and Change Management professionals to assist.
