John WilsonJohn Wilson brings 25 years of industrial and manufacturing experience to the business. After graduating in Mechanical Engineering from the University of St Andrews, he joined Coats Viyella initially working in textiles in South America, then in their precision engineering division Dynacast, where he headed up their Far East operations. In that role he supplied precision components to a range of blue chip organisations such as Sony, Matsushita, Pentel, Samsung, LG, Tatung, Bosch, Motorola, Seagate, Toyota and Mattel - throughout the Asia Pacific region.
He then joined TI Group plc as Regional Director of their John Crane mechanical seals division which serviced the pump, compressor, chemicals, pharmaceutical and petrochemical sectors. He was also responsible for joint venture manufacturing operations in China and led
negotiations with both government and industrial bodies.
He has hands on experience of dealing with manufacturing businesses in China and the Chinese business culture, and has travelled extensively in the country.
For the last 9 years he has been in charge of the North region of Russam GMS and has handled a large number manufacturing and supply chain placements, both interim and permanent, in UK, Europe and the Far East. He now heads up our Manufacturing & Supply Chain Practice which increasingly involves sourcing from Eastern Europe or the Far East.
